Can you use the BMW diagnostics software to tell the car you've changed the battery? I can't get DIS to connect to my car so I can say for sure. Where in that pic Electtrical the IBS?. It monitors battery level and adjusts charging output to keep the battery topped up without over charging. I plug one in for a few hours every week as I don't drive my car everyday and on occasion only do short trips which aren't enough to Prat charge battery.
I tend to give it longer during winter when starting uses more battery as do demisters and heated seats. I guess I'll need to leave it plugged in for a day again this winter and see what happens.
The car doesn't fit in the garage, so I have to leave it on the driveway with the bonnet open when charging - so never seem to be able to leave it connected for more than a few hours at a time not wanting to leave the car overnight with the bonnet open.
